Anju Vriksha is a Communications Professor at Foothill-De Anza Community College District and she’s also a 6th grade Teacher with Los Altos School District. Anju is one of the Bay Area’s top debate and public speaking coaches. Anju won the 2005 Novice Parliamentary Debate Championship. She also won second place in Novice Interpretation of Prose.  She received her MA in Teaching at Santa Clara University and she is fluent in 5 different languages! Anju personally placed 9th Best Speaker in Parliamentary Debate at the National Parliamentary Debate Association Championship.

Despite these personal achievements and the obvious competitive success of her team, Mrs. Vriksha says, “Winning is nice, but it’s not our ultimate goal. We focus on becoming clearer, more imaginative, more ethical speakers and leaders. Trophies are road signs. They aren’t the destination.”

Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to create new and innovative programs in each organization she worked for. By incorporating theatre activities and interactive games into lesson plans, she is able to engage students and promote a fun learning environment.

She is an expert in helping students prepare and deliver their message with clarity, confidence and authenticity — whether they are talking to the media, giving a speech, interviewing for a job or taking part in a meeting. Her students say she is “loyal and committed”, “savvy”, and “able to turn really hard work into fun”. She is known for helping her students create a little magic with their audiences. In these competitive times, effective communication can be the keystone to success.
